Nutcracker Advent Colors

In 2021, we took inspiration from The Nutcracker Ballet, in all its forms (ballet, music, movies, etc.) for our colors. For those who bought the 24 skein set, we set a puzzle - we gave you the pictures from which we chose our colors and challenged you to match the day with the picture using just the yarn you received. Below are the pictures, the names of the yarns, and the days in which they appeared.

  1. Waltz of the Flowers

 2. Ballerina Princess

3. Party Goer #1 - red tonal yarn

 4. Clara

 5. Mother Ginger

6. Party Goer #2 - green tonal yarn

 7. Sugar Plum Fairy

 8. Nutcracker fabric

9. Party Goer #3 - golden yellow tonal

 10. Drosselmeyer

 11. Shiver

12. Party Goer #4 - blue tonal yarn

 13. The Mouse King

 14. Harlequin

15. Party Goer #5 - gold tonal

 16. Pink Nutcracker

 17 Dew Drop Fairy

18. Party Goer #6 - purple tonal yarn

 19. Candy Cane Dancer

 20. Hawthorne

21 - Party Goer #7 - Aqua Tonal Yarn

 22. Phillip - the guard

 23. Flower Dancers

24 - Party Goer #8 - Pink Tonal Yarn

We hope you enjoyed opening your advent calendar and working with the yarn as much as we have. Mary Beth is still working on the Skyline Shawl by Helen Stewart - It's taking time but she loves the way it looks.

So, how well did you do?

This was a lot of fun,😄 i know I overthought some of my answers, lol. 😅 it was really neat to see how differently I interpreted some of the concept pictures than the Toad Ladies did,(I was so sure Day #16 was the Candy Cane dancers!) I realized I tended to be more directly literal with my interpretation of the images, when quite often the answer was a more abstract vision of it. I hope everyone else had a good time, too!
