On Silent Wings is January’s Denizen of the Hollow monthly club yarn. This month’s inspiration came from the owl that visited a tree right outside our bedrooms one morning at 3AM and began to screech as loud as it could.  We think he was calling out Hugo.  He was probably a barn owl but since it’s January we imagined a beautiful snowy owl.  

Each month, we focus on another creature that might be found here in The Hollow. We look at The Hollow as a peaceable kingdom - all creatures are welcome. And, much like Tom Bombadil’s land, many different animals stop by, from the everyday to the fantastical. Everyone can find a resting spot for a time until they are ready to move on.

Our yarns are hand dyed or hand painted using professional acid dyes. We wash each skein carefully after dying but slight bleeding may occur during first wash. Skeins may vary in color slightly so if using more than one skein of yarn in a project, please alternate skeins every few rows.

Care of yarn - superwash merino will allow you to wash your items in the washing machine but please use cold water. For best results and care, hand washing is recommended.
